A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to help photograph Emma and Ralph’s wedding at the ever impressive Clandon Park in Surrey. It was my first experience as a second shooter (shooting for the lovely Tarah Coonan), something I’ve been keen to try for a while now. All of the fun and less of the pressure, being a second shooter gave me the opportunity to experiment a little more and I am really pleased with the results.
Clandon Park is such a beautiful venue for both traditional and documentary wedding photographers alike with its high, ornate ceilings and incredible gardens. Emma and Ralph are a lovely couple. Fun and full of love for each other and if they were nervous on the day, they certainly didn’t show it. Aside from Emma and Ralph, their Daughter Poppy and her Cousin were the stars of the day. Ralph briefed me to get “lots of pictures of them running around” and it was extremely hard not to point the camera in their direction whenever they were about. For me, kids make a wedding. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and this innocence and lack of self consciousness make for incredibly emotional pictures.
Anyway, enough talking, time for some pictures. Here is a selection of my favourite Clandon Park wedding photography from the day, all taken with my discreet documentary photography style.
Really beautiful shots, great work!
Lovely work, I especially like that photo of the 3 little ones. I wonder what he said too, must have been very cheeky! lol.
Bravo! Love the lighting and moments captured 🙂
