I’m a husband, a father and a photographer. I’m also a drummer, a burger lover and an absolutely terrible singer! Ask my kids, they’ll tell you. Rebecca and I were lucky enough to get married on the veranda of a beautiful beach house overlooking Tankerton beach in Whitstable (our favourite place in the world) and it was without doubt one of the very best days of our lives.
I started my career as a graphic designer before progressing to the level of art director for one of London’s leading advertising agencies. It was here that I really fell in love with photography. The buzz of photoshoots and capturing moments on film was incredible, but after many years I began to grow tired of the fictitious nature of advertising and craved something more real. So I turned to social documentary photography and, in particular, weddings.
My inspiration comes from the great photojournalists and street photographers, who focus on capturing life as it happens rather than staging moments for the sake of a picture. My own personal documentary style was born from the concept of embracing the real moments of your day. I’ll be there to capture them, not create them, to tell the story of your wedding. Blending my eye for composition with a journalistic approach I’m looking to capture the very heart and soul of your day in the most unique and beautiful way.
