Thank you so much for the photos! We were blown away by the gallery – they captured the day so perfectly
Elizabeth and John
On a wet and windy Saturday back in August 2013 I made my way to Surrey to photograph Elizabeth and John’s Clandon Park wedding day. And what an emotional day it was. Several months before the wedding day John was unfortunately involved in a rather horrific accident. With the support of his family, friends and his loving wife-to-be, John made a great recovery.
Capturing the couple walking back up the aisle is a moment that I always aim to capture. It’s the first time they will walk hand in hand as husband and wife. But this moment had an even deeper meaning to the couple because this was actually the first time John had walked without crutches since his accident. The picture you see above serves as a reminder of the incredible willpower that John employed to get himself to the level of fitness required to allow this moment to happen. Bravo, John. Bravo.
Clandon Park is a venue I’ve worked at before but yet I never cease to be amazed by its beauty. This incredible 18th century Palladian mansion with its marble atrium plays host to the most exquisite of wedding receptions. With a shorter than usual coverage my day started with the guests arriving at Clandon Park and with the wind and rain refusing to hold off, family and friends dashed as quick as they could from nearby cars. Apart from a few drizzly spells the day dried out nicely and everyone had a smashing time.
Here are a selection of my favourite photos from Elizabeth and John’s Clandon Park wedding. If you enjoyed looking through this wedding please do leave a comment for the happy couple below.
If you’re planning a wedding at Clandon Park and like my unique documentary approach I’d love to hear from you.
Pure pleasure to watch Steven! Great moments captured!
Great set of images Steven. Love the emotion in the first kiss shot. The image with the guy framed in a doorway within a doorway is an excellent composition too!
Agree with Adam’s comments above, and would add that the images taken during the ceremony really are very strong. Particularly love the expression on the Father’s face as he walks down the aisle – really moving. Some tricky backlit situations to deal with too, and as always, you’ve really nailed it.
Lovely set of images Steven. Nice subtle deep colours, clever use of space and environment. I like the simplicity of image with the man, door and wedding sign. Good narrative overall.
Lovely set of images Steven, really strong and consistent throughout
Gorgeous set Steven but so sad about the fire at beautiful Clandon Park. I shot a wedding there last October. Makes the existence of these shots all the more important.
Awesome work Steven, subtle observations and top notch postproduction.
