Wedding at Shepperton Film Studios

Wedding at Shepperton Film Studios

“We absolutely LOVE them. I was laughing and crying. Brought the whole day back.”

I remember the moment the enquiry email popped up. A wedding at Shepperton Film Studios? Yes please. I’m a huge film fan myself and cinematography has always been an inspiration for me when it comes to my own weddings photography. So the chance to visit Shepperton Studios, let alone shoot a wedding here, was like a mini dream come true.

The day started at the Shepperton Holiday Inn with a little bit of groom prep, a little bit of bridal prep and a little bit of Jack Daniels (the groom, not me). It was then onto Pinewood Studios for the main event. With the groom is a cameraman himself, the whole wedding was film themed. Lovely little touches here, there and everywhere.

Here are some of my favourite photographs from Sonia and Daniel’s wedding at Shepperton Film Studios. We’d love it if you left some love in the comments section below and please feel free to share this on your favourite social media sites too.

Clandon Park Wedding

Clandon Park wedding

Wedding PhotographerThank you so much for the photos! We were blown away by the gallery – they captured the day so perfectlyWedding Photographer

Elizabeth and John

On a wet and windy Saturday back in August 2013 I made my way to Surrey to photograph Elizabeth and John’s Clandon Park wedding day. And what an emotional day it was. Several months before the wedding day John was unfortunately involved in a rather horrific accident. With the support of his family, friends and his loving wife-to-be, John made a great recovery.

Capturing the couple walking back up the aisle is a moment that I always aim to capture. It’s the first time they will walk hand in hand as husband and wife. But this moment had an even deeper meaning to the couple because this was actually the first time John had walked without crutches since his accident. The picture you see above serves as a reminder of the incredible willpower that John employed to get himself to the level of fitness required to allow this moment to happen. Bravo, John. Bravo.

Clandon Park is a venue I’ve worked at before but yet I never cease to be amazed by its beauty. This incredible 18th century Palladian mansion with its marble atrium plays host to the most exquisite of wedding receptions. With a shorter than usual coverage my day started with the guests arriving at Clandon Park and with the wind and rain refusing to hold off, family and friends dashed as quick as they could from nearby cars. Apart from a few drizzly spells the day dried out nicely and everyone had a smashing time.

Here are a selection of my favourite photos from Elizabeth and John’s Clandon Park wedding. If you enjoyed looking through this wedding please do leave a comment for the happy couple below.

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Richmond

“Thank you so much for the photographs – they look amazing”

Pembroke Lodge is a beautiful Georgian mansion set right in the heart of Richmond Park in the London Borough of Richmond in Surrey. It offers spectacular views over London yet is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be the perfect haven for wedding celebrations.

Jon and Veronica’s Pembroke Lodge wedding took place on a beautiful summers day back in August. It was a fairly intimate day with just the couple’s closest family and friends. Midweek weddings are becoming more and more popular each year and I really enjoy photographing them as there’s often a slightly different dynamic about the day. A stolen day away from work. When Jon first approached me he told me they had been searching specifically for a journalistic wedding photographer when they came across my work. The couple both work in a creative industry and they were after something different to the run of the mill photography they had seen from so many other weddings.

Jon and Veronica’s wedding day was fun, relaxed and full of love; everything a wedding should be. When I left them the dancing was in full swing and I got the feeling the party had only just begun. Here are a selection of my favourite photos from Veronica and Jon’s Pembroke Lodge wedding. Please do comment below and feel free to pin pictures to Pinterest and share this wedding on your favourite social sites.

‘Toy Themed’ Botleys Mansion Wedding

Botleys Mansion Wedding | Rebecca & Phil

Rebecca and Phil first got in touch with me back in May last year. They were planning their Botleys Mansion wedding from a fair distance away, having recently moved to the US, and were drawn to my natural documentary style. They wanted pictures that captured all the wonderful moments between them and their guests. Fast forward nearly a year to their wedding day and the day was everything the couple had hoped it would be.

Rebecca and Phil both work for Hasbro, so it was very fitting that they chose a ‘Toy Story’ theme for their wedding day with themed tables names, table plan, a 4 tier toy themed cake and even a ‘mashly in love’ Mr and Mrs Potato Head as a wedding favour for each and every guest! Being a designer, Phil took it upon himself to personally design all the stationary.

From bridal preparations to the evening celebrations, it was a wonderful day to document and after some emotional and heartfelt speeches (Rebecca’s speech and her father’s in particular) it was onto the evening dancing. And what a first dance it was! Rebecca and Phil had choreographed a full dance routine set to a mega-mix of their favourite tracks. Top marks to you guys, it was brilliant!

Here are a selection of my favourite pictures from their day and a few words from the very happy couple.

If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your Botleys Mansion wedding please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Botleys Mansion Wedding Photography Surrey

Earlier this year I was asked to assist in documenting the stunning Botleys Mansion wedding of Samantha and Luke in Surrey. This 18th century Palladian Mansion has one of the best reception rooms I have photographed at, a beautiful glass atrium which floods the guests with an abundance of natural light. As an available light wedding photographer I always look for quality light in conjunction with strong composition and engaging subject matter. I prefer natural light over flash photography as this helps retain the true mood and ambience of the scene I am photographing. It also aids in helping me stay discreet amongst the wedding guests.

Earlier in the day Sam and her Mum looked on through large glass patio doors as the sky turned grey and the heavens opened. Luckily for Sam and Luke though the weather was kind to them when it mattered most. By the time the wedding came, their outdoor ceremony was bathed in glorious sunshine and the reception which followed was blessed with some absolutely beautiful light.

This was the first Jewish wedding I had photographed, or even attended for that matter, and so when the guests made their way inside following the ceremony I was blown away to see the Hora erupt as if from nowhere. I had to act extremely quickly and it was one of the biggest challenges of my wedding photography career so far. I was trying to freeze the fast paced movement, achieve focus, compensate for the backlighting through the glass roof, as well as keeping the composition strong and capturing the incredible expressions from both Sam, Luke and their guests.

This Botleys Mansion wedding was such an incredible day to photograph. Thank you Samantha. Thank you Luke. And thank you Nick Tucker for inviting me to assist you on the day.

Clandon Park Wedding Photography Surrey

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to help photograph Emma and Ralph’s wedding at the ever impressive Clandon Park in Surrey. It was my first experience as a second shooter (shooting for the lovely Tarah Coonan), something I’ve been keen to try for a while now. All of the fun and less of the pressure, being a second shooter gave me the opportunity to experiment a little more and I am really pleased with the results.

Clandon Park is such a beautiful venue for both traditional and documentary wedding photographers alike with its high, ornate ceilings and incredible gardens. Emma and Ralph are a lovely couple. Fun and full of love for each other and if they were nervous on the day, they certainly didn’t show it. Aside from Emma and Ralph, their Daughter Poppy and her Cousin were the stars of the day. Ralph briefed me to get “lots of pictures of them running around” and it was extremely hard not to point the camera in their direction whenever they were about. For me, kids make a wedding. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and this innocence and lack of self consciousness make for incredibly emotional pictures.

Anyway, enough talking, time for some pictures. Here is a selection of my favourite Clandon Park wedding photography from the day, all taken with my discreet documentary photography style.Clandon Park Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Wedding PhotographerClandon Park Wedding PhotographerClandon Park Wedding PhotographerClandon Park Wedding PhotographerClandon Park Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Wedding PhotographySurrey Wedding PhotographySurrey Wedding PhotographerSurrey Wedding PhotographySurrey Wedding PhotographerClandon Park Surrey Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Surrey Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Surrey Wedding PhotographyClandon Park Surrey Wedding PhotographerClandon Park Surrey Wedding PhotographerDocumentary Wedding PhotographyDocumentary Wedding PhotographerDocumentary Wedding PhotographyDocumentary Wedding PhotographerSurrey Wedding PhotographerReportage Wedding PhotographyReportage Wedding PhotographyReportage Wedding PhotographerReportage Wedding Photography
