“Thank you so much, you’ve really captured the day as we remembered it and it’s lovely to see some of the things we didn’t get a chance to see as we were getting swept along.”
Katie and Andrew’s Lains Barn wedding was such a wonderful day, filled to the brim with love and laughter. These are the only two ingredients needed in my opinion. Great weather helps of course, as does a stunning setting. Thankfully Katie and Andrew had both of these, too.
The day started with bridal preparations at Barton House, just up the road from Lains Barn. After several fun-filled hours it was over to Lains Barn for the ceremony. If there’s one thing that my 7 years as a documentary wedding photographer has taught me, it’s that weddings tend to throw up all sorts of curve balls. This wedding was no exception. Minutes after arriving at the Barn I somehow managed to get a wasp caught between my finger and camera. The wasp obviously panicked and proceeded to stick his stinger deep into my finger; a first for me at a wedding. A quick flick of the wasp got rid of the cheeky chap but his stinger remained. With only minutes to go until Katie arrived to walk down the aisle I had no choice but to wait until after the ceremony to dig the stinger out.
The rest of the day went without a hitch and after some games in the garden it was back into the the barn for dinner, speeches and some absolutely brilliant dancing! These guys LOVE to dance. I was even treated to a special performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller; another first for me at a wedding.
Katie and Andrew, your Lains Barn wedding was 100% totally incredible – thank you so much for letting me capture the day for you! For everyone else, here are some highlights from their day.
Steven, some cracking angles and observations here! Superb!
Thanks so much, Neale.
