Brangwyn Hall and Ocean View Gower Wedding Photography | Katherine & Nathan

It was a long drive from London to Wales to photograph Katherine and Nathan’s Ocean View Gower wedding back in the summer. But a drive I was more than happy to make. You see, their story is a truly beautiful one. They both grew up in the same town and attended the same secondary school. But with Nathan being 5 years older than Katherine, romance was never really going to blossom back then. After leaving school Katherine went to University in Bristol and then moved to London, almost crossing paths with Nathan again on a couple of occasions. But when Katherine moved to the Middle East and signed up for an internet dating site who should she receive a message from? Ok, it’s probably not hard to guess I am talking about Nathan, who also happened to be living out there.

Call it coincidence or call it fate (I’m going with fate by the way), these two were meant to be together and nothing was going to spoil their day. Not the call about their VW Beetle wedding car a couple of days before the wedding informing them that it had broken down and wouldn’t be fixed in time for the wedding. Not the call about their replacement VW camper van on the day of the wedding itself informing them it too had broken down and wouldn’t be there in time to take Katherine to Brangwyn Hall in Swansea for their ceremony. Not even the toppling of their stunning 4 tier wedding cake resulting in a slightly smaller (but no less stunning) 3 tier wedding cake.

None of this was important to this couple though. It was all about the love. The beautiful ceremony at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea. The 1950’s London Routemaster. The VW Campervan that did eventually make it to Brangwyn Hall. The trip to Weobley Castle in Llanrhidian. The reception at Ocean View Windmill Gower. The ice creams. The rolling Welsh hills. The Welsh male voice choir. The game of pass-the-parcel amongst the ushers. The laughter. The dancing. It was an absolute pleasure telling the story of their day.
