“We are so delighted with your photography. Such a fantastic set of images.”
Aimee and Matt’s wedding was set to take place at the stunning St Mary’s church in Bampton, home of the hit TV show Downton Abbey. I had met the couple many months before when Aimee was bridesmaid for her friend Sophie at St Audries Park, and when they told me about their wonderful Downton Abbey wedding I was very excited.
Despite the fact I haven’t really watched much of Downton Abbey myself, I’m a sucker for a good church wedding and I certainly wasn’t disappointed here. St Mary’s church itself is nothing short of incredible and as the rear doors opened and Aimee peered in there was a real sense of drama unfolding. Following the ceremony everyone made the trip over to Lains Barn for the reception, a venue I know very well having shot both indoor and outdoor weddings there previously. The lovely barn makes a perfect host to both the meal and the evening dancing.
What a day. What an evening. Here are some of my favourites telling the story of Aimee and Matt’s Downton Abbey wedding. Please do leave the couple some love in the comments section below and of course feel free to share this on your favourite social media sites.
Top drawer as always Steven.
Thanks Kevin – very much appreciated.
A great set of documentary images Steven.
Beautiful work! Love how you just let the shadows show the depth on the church. Really inspirational for me when I shoot my next wedding.
Super set of images Steven – particularly enjoyed the evening shots, with your inventive use of angles. Great stuff.
