I have been looking forward to sharing this Burgh House wedding for a while now. Claire and Craig are one of those couples who just exude love. It shows in every look and every touch. It was a pleasure watching them throughout the day and capturing the laughs, the smiles and the tender little moments of their day.
One of the things I love about being a reportage wedding photographer is travelling around the country visiting some of the best wedding venues in the UK. From barns to castles, grand halls to marquees, city centre registry offices to private members clubs, every wedding is unique and I love telling these stories. Having lived in London for over 10 years now I have a close affinity with this city so I am always pleased to be asked to photograph a London wedding, and this Burgh House wedding was no exception. The day started off with bridal preparations at the couples home in Hampstead before the bridal party made their way to St Marylebone Parish Church for the stunning wedding ceremony. Church weddings are great to photograph but it relies on having a good raport with the officiant in charge. Some will have their own rules about where the photographer can stand and which sections of the ceremony they can photograph. I talked Revd Evans through my documentary wedding photography style and he was fairly relaxed. He actually came up to me following the ceremony and informed me that I was “one of the most discreet photographers he had ever worked with”. This was a huge compliment to me, as this is always my aim on any wedding day.
The couple and their guests then waited (sheltered from the lashing rain) for the London Routemaster bus to collect them and take them to Burgh House in Hampstead for the wedding reception. There was a real mix of nationalities at this Burgh House wedding, with Claire being American and Craig from South Africa, which made for an exciting day that I was honoured to be a part of. A big thank you to Claire and Craig for having me along on their special day.

Great great work as always Steven…love that colour shot of the bride looking in the mirror during the prep!
Gorgeous wedding coverage… Very classy images showing the emotions of the day. Nice preparations shots! Alexis
really emotive work, steven.
When a couple is in love like this, it’s so easy to get beautiful, natural shots of them without directing. Lovely work!
Not as easy as it looks, Teresa 😉
The real trick is staying discreet enough so as not to affect the moment itself.
Perfect black and white processing and classy work. Beautiful emotions captured.
Beautifully atmospheric. Really great black and white photography.
Classy and elegant. Great work mate.
Lovely images. Nice to see the colours. Great documentary.
Gorgeous black and white pictures, really bringing out the architecture of that stunning building. Beautiful! Also, you can’t beat a good old London Bus at a wedding!
London wedding photography at its finest. Burgh House never looked so good.
Beautiful storey telling. I thought I was at the wedding! 8)
Thank you everyone. Very kind.
These shots look like the very best highlights from a film -portraying love and life and capturing all the humour and pathos of the day in motion and spirit – really skillfully orchistrated and and such delicately captured moments. Thank you
