When Shelley and Guy first got in touch about their upcoming wedding at Beacon House in Whitstable I had the biggest smile on my face. One of the reasons for this was that Beacon House, or The Artists’ Beach House as it’s otherwise known, holds a very special place in my heart. Two years prior to Shelley and Guy’s wedding (pretty much to the day actually) I married my beautiful wife in that very same house, overlooking that very same beach. Our day was absolutely magical and so on reading Shelley’s enquiry, all those wonderful memories began flooding back and I just couldn’t wait to be part of their day.

The Beacon House is situated overlooking Tankerton Beach in Whitstable, Kent and really is a venue like no other. The house oozes natural charm and character and you could almost get away without doing any ‘dressing’ at all. Shelley and Guy of course added their own touches here and there and the whole day was one of the most relaxed and enjoyable weddings I have ever photographed. It reminded me so much of my own wedding day in so many ways and was a perfect fit for my own personal style of documentary wedding photography.

After the day’s events at the house we took a short stroll along the seafront to The East Quay which played host the evening celebrations involving fish and chips, drinking games, shirtless dads and lots of dancing! Here’s a little taster of Shelley and Guy’s wedding at Beacon House in Whitstable.
