“I just wanted to write and tell you how happy Lee and I are with the photos. You have truly captured the day and all the special moments throughout. We love our photos and couldn’t be happier.”
On the day, things didn’t quite go to plan for the couple. Following several Skype chats with her family overseas, Rebecca was a little late leaving her home and that, plus the heavy London traffic, meant the 1950s Citreon DS we were travelling in was late arriving at The Old Marylebone Town Hall. It seemed the couple had missed their slot and for a moment it looked like they weren’t going to be getting married after all. I really felt for the couple and the registrars clearly felt the same because a short while later a new ceremony time had been arranged, albeit not for another 2 hours. But this was fantastic news.
We took a short walk to the Duke of Wellington for a glass or two of Pimms and returned to the registry office shortly before the ceremony was due to begin. This actually made for a wonderful day, giving the couple a little time together before the ceremony to take in everything that was about to happen. Following the most beautiful of ceremonies complete with some really emotional readings (including a surprise reading sent from the father of the bride) it was off to The Wolseley for champagne and dinner. I was only allowed to take a few pictures in The Wolseley so as not to disturb the other guests dining, so I left the wedding party there to enjoy the rest of their afternoon before the couple headed off on their mini-moon.
Rebecca, Lee, it was a honour to be part of your intimate London wedding and if you need a photographer for the Australia leg of your wedding, just let me know 😉
Here are a few of my favourite pictures from their day and a few words from Rebecca and Lee.
Funny (in a nice way) how plans going awry can turn into something unique and memorable. Beautifully documented Steven and that is my favourite car in the world!
Really lovely work Steven. LOVE that shadow shot!
Just wonderful. Really nice work Steven. And like Tom I love those Citroen cars!
Beautifully captured Steven, lovely stuff.
Gorgeous documentary photography Steven. Love some of the moments, especially during the ceremony.
Beautiful, every moment is about love and the couple which is exactly what a wedding should be about, beautifully and perfectly captured x
Captured perfectly. Photographing a wedding so small can be difficult as being unobtrusive is that much harder, but you’ve done a top job and captured the intimacy and the love really well
I absolutely love these images Steven. I bet they’re over the moon with them.
Really lovely work Steven. Composition, timing, nice colour balance – everything is working in harmony. I enjoy looking at your work!
Absolutely stunning work Steven! Beautifully captured 😮
Ridiculously good coverage in this set Steven. I love your ability to see a great composition, I especially like the bride walking the yellow line, the shadow is perfectly placed. Really enjoy this!
Absolutely beautiful. What a wonderful day they had and so beautifully captured.
Absolutely fantastic work Steven. Loved it.
Stunning images! Amazing job as always.
Pure class. Not much more I can add.
Superb and subtle… great work Steven
Great stuff. Job exceedingly well done.
Really special.
Crispy as always Steven, well done.
Brilliant coverage of the smallest wedding I’ve ever seen. Always interesting and surprising with some truly wonderful images.
some lovely frames here Steven – to shoot such a small event (big in other ways obviously) so well is no mean feat. Just shows what can be achieved when clients put their trust in you. Lovely.
Beautiful coverage. Shows how much trust your clients have with you and your presence as a photographer when you can produce documentary images of this quality in such a small group. Bravo.
Superb documentary of a lovely day, fantastic moments captured beautifully, well done.
Elegant, stylish and artistic. I can see why they were thrilled.
I rarely get excited about other weddings, by other wedding photographers, since the work is of a ‘usual’ high standard. But this…this is just beautiful work. Wish I had it in my ‘book’. Well done sir….fantastic stuff. Mick
Thanks everyone. Really nice to hear such great feedback on this wedding. Much appreciated.
Steven, these are just perfect! I love them! It feels so romantic and you’ve captured it all beautifully. I feel really happy for this couple and I don’t even know them! They will definitely want to share these with the grandchildren one day.
Excellent documentary work, Steven. Just superb.
To be honest, everyone’s already said what I think. I just wanted to add my voice to the multitude telling you how absolutely great this wedding is. I doubt I’ll see better wedding photography all year.
Super set of images Steven – somehow when the words ‘intimate’ are used when describing wedding photographs there’s a sense that they could be a little reserved, perhaps even a little, dare I say, boring, yet in the images you’ve captured, there’s so much life & soul to your storytelling!! Just 4 people, but what a wonderful day they obviously had, and I’m not surprised they’re chuffed to bits with what you captured that day. Well. Done. You!
Wonderful story Steven, you almost make it feel like you are part of their day while viewing the images.
Very Nice! Love the shadow photo and the colour processing.
Incredibly tough remit and you absolutely excelled, Steven..
Wow – mate, these are absolute quality. Echo all of the above – fantastically considered compositions. Nicely done dude.
wonderful, powerful and emotional wedding photographs Steven. Love the framing. Great work!
