“Thank you so much for being such a brilliant person to have around on our wedding day. We had so many compliments about what a nice guy you are and you were so discreet that I really wasn’t aware of the photos being taken. It was a pleasure to have you there!”
Two cultures, one family. Pierre-Antoine, a strapping Frenchman. Emily, an English Rose. A beautiful church ceremony followed by a party to end all parties back at Emily’s parents’ home in the the picturesque Wye in Kent.
Emily and PAD (as he is affectionally known) booked me on the back of their friends’ wedding pictures, whose wedding I had photographed the year previously. I love it when referrals come this way because not only have I (in most cases) already met the couple, they have also seen me working first hand. The couples who find me this way always have 100% total trust in me to shoot their day. This of course gives me even greater confidence which ultimately results in better pictures for everyone.
The whole day was incredibly relaxed and absolutely jam-packed full of love and laughter. From the ever-so-helpful vicar who pretty much let me shoot when and where I wanted – discreetly as I always do of course – to the epic magician on hand during the reception. All I’ll say is that it’s a good job he worked the room doing his routine more than once because the first time I saw him actually make a wine bottle disappear through the dining table my jaw hit the floor!
Here is a selection of my favourite documentary wedding photography from Emily and PAD’s garden wedding in Kent so you can see the day for yourselves.
You have such a fantastic eye and the ability to read situations before the ‘moment’ occurs.
