I have had the pleasure of photographing some truly fantastic weddings this year. This Bibury Court wedding was a little different to most. Anna and Louis live in Moscow. Louis is English and Anna, formerly a fashion model, is Russian. Louis spent his college years in Oxford and he really wanted Anna to see it for herself. So they decided to marry here and planned their Oxford wedding from nearly two thousand miles away.
The day started with me arriving at The Plough Inn, Clanfield, where Anna and Louis were both getting ready, to photograph some of the preparations and a short champagne drinks reception. The couple decided to spend the day together prior to the ceremony and so the couple, their guests, and myself, all jumped onto a 1950’s Bedford bus to take us into Oxford City centre. It was slow and rather hot (being one of the hottest days of the year I believe) but it was superb and made for a great atmosphere. From here we made our way to Magdalen College Oxford (Louis’ old college) for a tour around the grounds, complete with champagne pitstop. Louis then jumped onto the bus with the English guests and Anna and her Russian family and friends were given a short tour around Oxford as they made their way on foot to Oxford Registry Office. I joined them for the stroll.
Being models, Anna and her friends were certainly no strangers to the camera. My style is all about blending in and capturing moments as they happen. There was no real direction from me, as is my way on a wedding day, but I found myself really enjoying the moments where the girls played up for the camera. After a short and beautiful ceremony it was on to the picturesque Bibury Court in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, for more champagne, speeches, dinner and dancing.
Anna and Louis’ day was intimate, unique and beautiful. It was perfect. I was welcomed into the small gathering with open arms and I felt like more than just their wedding photographer. I felt like their friend. Anna, Louis, I wish you every happiness and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Some absolute classics in here mate, really lovely.
really lovely set steven! the bride has a killer smile. particularly loved the third to last and the last image, especially.
This is a lovely set of pictures – great rich black and whites and nice colour processing. Nice to look at a sunny wedding when it’s cold and foggy outside.
Stunning photos that do justice to a stunning bride. The one of her in the bus doorway could be poster.
Beautiful images here and lovely processing.
Lovely set and it is nice to see another take on the city and on Bibury Court of course.
Beautiful images of beautiful people and such a beautiful setting. Great black and whites.
wows – Another top set of images Steven! I love the walking shots, but then I love all of them!
Outstanding work. Beautiful bride 🙂
Stunning, a lot of those shots here prove your excellent eye to catch those special moments!
Wow, such beautiful photos and what looks to have been a delightful wedding to photograph. Like Nick says, the bridal portrait on the bus is sublime, such a lovely looking girl too. Regards
Matt
