I first met Laura and Trevor (and Laura’s mum) at their home in central London. They were nice enough to cook for me that evening so I knew straight away we were going to get on well! They were planning their mid-summer wedding at the stunning Notley Abbey in Buckinghamshire, one of Bijou’s many wonderful wedding venues. I’d never photographed a Notley Abbey wedding before, although I had worked at some of Bijou’s other venues and when I turned off the main road I was greeted by the wonderful treelined road leading up to the house itself. It’s really rather special.
Laura and Trevor were lucky with the weather that day. It was right in the middle of the peak summer heatwave and to say it was hot that day would be an understatement. At one stage during the bridal preparations I thought we were actually going to melt, but staff were quick to find a fan to keep everything cool for a little while longer. The sunshine really did show Notley Abbey at its best and it was the perfect backdrop to a perfect day.
The outdoor ceremony was beautiful. The speeches were emotional. The dancing was enjoyable. The whole wedding from start to finish was stunning. There’s no other word for it. And as the sun set and the evening celebrations continued, I was able to sneak one last shot of Laura and Trevor taking a little bit of time out away from their guests.

Lovely Steven. A lot of great moments captured that I think a lot of us (me) would miss.
Wow, beautiful work as always. Love all the layers in the images!
smashing set Steven and I like the split image presentation, very design lead. I particularly like the driving shots from the back to the car, terrific.
Great set Steven. Beautiful moments captured.
What a set of pictures! Brilliant composition and timing throughout. Especially the motion blur from the back of the car, the piano reflection and that look of love in the first dance picture. But that final image sums up why you do what you do so well.
Can’t help but agree with the other comments Steven, really great coverage, beautiful work.
Lovely lovely stuff Stephen. You have a great eye for moments indeed 🙂
There’s so little shade at Notley that on a hot, bright day, conditions can be quite challenging photographically speaking, and yet you’ve produced a fabulous set of images which shows a great understanding of light. Interesting compositions and some unusual angles add to the fact this is a super set of images, and I bet the bride and groom were happy they invited you for dinner!
Beautiful set of images, I love the reflection shot in the piano. And what an amazing venue with all the fairy lights.
Beautiful wedding photography and a great collection of images.
